Snow Day or Other Closure: Interviews Postponed
Occasionally, due to snow storms, UW will close. When this happens, CECA will also shut down. All co-op and graduating employment interviews scheduled for that day are cancelled and postponed to another date.
To find out if the University is closed, you can, after 6:30 a.m. on the affected day do any of the following:
- Check the UW homepage on the web for a closure notice.
- Call the main UW telephone number (519-888-4567). A recorded message will tell you if the University is closed.
- Call the main CECA telephone number (519-888-4026). A recorded message will tell you if CECA is closed and the status of interviews on that day.
- Check the CECA web site for a closure notice. It will appear on the CECA homepage, the Student CECA homepage, the Employer CECA homepage, and the JobMine login page.
Where possible, any scheduled interviews (including telephone interviews) will be postponed to another date. The new dates will appear on your JobMine "Interviews" page as they are worked out.
There may be other reasons than a snowstorm when CECA needs to cancel and postpone co-op and graduating employer interviews. In such cases CECA will post notices on the CECA web site and if possible, attempt to contact you if you have been scheduled for an interview to inform you of the cancellation/postponement.
