Financial Support


Please visit the UW Student Awards and Financial Aid web site for student financial support. The status of your application, questions and inquires must be sent directly to the Student Awards office.


For co-op terms with a not-for-profit organization outside Canada, you may be eligible for the following specific awards:
  • Douglas T. Wright Award  (deadlines of February 15, June 15, October 15 each year) 2nd, 3rd. 4th year students apply in the academic year they return from their international experience valued at $1,500.
  • Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarship:
    Government funding to support students who are working or studying abroad. 86 awards are available -valued at $2,500 each, for the 09/10 year.

Submit completed award application forms to the uWaterloo Student Awards and Financial Aid office.

Co-op students in the Faculty of Arts who complete a work-term in the service of others locally, nationally or abroad with little or no remuneration are eligible to apply for these awards:

  • Manulife Financial Community and World Service Awards valued up to approximately $1,500.
